Once again, the Internet has convinced me into buying a product but unlike all of the great products I've found out about through the on-line beauty community, this is one I'm not so happy to recommend.
After an afternoon in the university library, I passed Superdrug, like I do twice a day when I'm going to uni, and decided to treat myself to the Jergens Original Beauty Lotion, which I'd heard such great things about. The scent of course is what drew me to this product, as I adore anything with a cherry or almond smell like Dr Pepper and Battenburg cake, so I had to have a cheeky sniff in the bottle before I took it to the till. The scent was like pure Battenburg cake, cue excitement.
So imagine my disappointment when I got home and applied it to find that it smells like cherry almond for about 30 seconds then dries down to a powdery smell, similar to the Nivea scent. Not all body moisturisers smell as strong as they do in the bottle once they're rubbed in but this changed completely. I tested this out with Boots Extracts Almond Body Butter (a favourite, review soon) on one arm and Jergens on the other to see if I was just imagining it and the smell did completely change whereas the Boots one smelled like it did in the tub.
Even though I'm disappointed by being conned into this thinking it would keep smelling like cherry and almonds after 30 seconds, I only paid 74p in Superdrug for this as I used 100 points from my Superdrug Beauty card for the rest. I wouldn't buy this again and if I'd wanted something that smelled powdery or like a Nivea product I would've bought one instead!
