Picture taken 2nd of April 2012, my lip collection may or may not have slightly expanded since then. Surprisingly this is just lipsticks or lipstick type products (Collection 2000 Cream Puffs/Lip Creams and Sleek Pout Paints included) and lipglosses weren't included.
35 in total, sadly sorted into colour groups.
This brings me to the big question: how many lipsticks is too many?
I'm in serious denial because I don't believe I have that many until I see them all together. Maybe this is because some are similar colours, were bought together or are kept in different handbags so they're never all seen together but I do have to admit that it's becoming a problem.
When I think about it, I am quite picky about what I consider to be a great or my favourite lip product, as some that I buy and try I can't stand the smell of or the formula's too drying so I don't 100% love all of these but I still use and enjoy them.
Now at the moment I have a serious craving for the Mac lipstick in Creme Cup, as it isn't like anything I own but as it's a light pink it would be really versatile and I would get a lot of wear out of it. However can I really justify another lipstick joining the family?
Because my lip product drawer is completely full, I do have a good range of colours and a few similar colours in my collection, should I maybe start a 'one in, one out' policy when it comes to buying lipsticks? Initially it sounds like a fabulous idea until I remember that I think I've only ever completely finished one lipstick in my whole life (an old Clinique one my mam gave me years ago). Facepalm.
So over the next couple of months, whether I cave in at the cosmetics counters or not, I'm still going to consciously try to use more of these or evaluate my lipstick collection.
In my defence, if you're worried about the amount of money I've spent on 35 (or now possibly more?) lipsticks, most of these I bought for under £5 e.g. NYX, Rimmel, 17, Collection 2000 etc. or on multi-buy offers and 3 out of 4 of the Mac lipsticks I have are Viva Glam charity lipsticks - who knew a lipstick addiction could make you so charitable!
Won't somebody join me in sharing their lipstick/lip product/personal addiction below?

*Reading this post back makes me feel terribly shallow that I can write a whole post on my big problem of having too many lipsticks but lets just say lipstick is my hobby - #firstworldproblems?*
